BASE LAYER

This layer wicks moisture from your skin and promotes evaporation. Base layers are designed to protect you from excess moisture in cold weather and enhance cooling in hot weather.

MID LAYER

Designed as controllable insulation, mid layers retain heat and are to add or remove, just as physical exertion and temperature requires. Like base layers, proper mid layers need to be wool, or synthetic material.

OUTER SHELL

The main defence against exterior weather forces is the outer layer—your main riding gear. This layer needs to provide waterproofness and breathability to maintain a comfortable microclimate, all while protecting from regular abuse.
